Friday's Feast # 95

Appetizer: How old were you when you got your first credit card? I only got my first credit card after I was married.

Soup: When was the last time you felt out of place? For some reason I always seem to feel out of place. I don't think I fit anywhere these days. ( I'm in a place of transition right now)

Salad: Did you have a curfew when you were a teenager? Yes I did have a very strict curfew. It was 10:00 PM. week nights and 12:00 midnight on weekends. I was in grade 12. I felt that my mother was way too strict. If I was even 5 minutes late I was in trouble.

Main Course: Name a person from history with whom you feel you have something in common with. Honestly I have not given it much thought. Don't know.

Dessert: When you read a newspaper, which section do you go for first? It's kinda sad and shows my age , but I have to be honest and say I go to the obituaries 1st. I just need to know if maybe I might find my name;) Sounds morbid I know . It is meant to be a joke.

Tonight I feel so blessed. I called my son to chat and Abby was not yet asleep. She was ready for bed, looking at a book. My son and his wife let her look at story books before she goes to bed. They read her stories and then let her have a book to look at as she falls asleep. I used to read to my children then put on music for them to listen to as they drifted off to sleep. Any way, my little girl was not yet asleep , so my son let me talk to her. My Abby said "Gramma, love you." She was repeating what my son said to her , but I was so thrilled non the less. I'm going to have to call more often. She is the light of my life right now. Along with my kids. I'm so thankful for the love of a precious grandchild.
Thankful Thursday!

It has been such a crazy week that I almost forgot to stop and think what I am thankful for. After all, this is, thankful thursday. Okay here goes.

Things I am thankful for!
1) As much as my job frustrates me to no end, I am thankful for the job.

2) My adorable son, who encourages me, and listens to me, and lovingly talks to me without judgement or condemnation. I adore Him.

3) My beautiful daughter who is kind, and patient, and wise, and loves me so much. She too is an encouragement and I adore her.

4) My friends where ever they may be. Even though we may be seperated by miles, or right in my city I am blessed to have them in my life.

5) My parents who are so supportive, and loving and care so much about how I'm doing. They give me unconditional love and help me without expecting anything in return.

6) God.... and His grace and mercy. Wow!

MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, "If you don't remember you have to look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.

"STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom goodnight. "I love you so much, that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.

"BRITTANY (age 4) had an earache and wanted a painkiller. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: "How does it know it's me?

"SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. "Please don't give me this juice again," she said, "It makes my teeth cough.

"Drew (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: "How much do I cost?

"MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: "Why is he whispering in her mouth?

"CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, "I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in?

"JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city, but his wife looked back and was turned to salt. Concerned, James asked, "What happened to the flea?

"TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her mom knew .Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, "Why doesn't your skin fit your face?

"This mom will never forget this particular Sunday sermon..."Dear Lord," the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. "Without you, we are but dust." He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter (who was listening!) leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, "Mommy, what is butt dust?"

I have not yet read nor have I seen the movie about the davinci code. I have however read the bible. I know with all my heart that scripture says that Jesus was pure and without sin. It does not say any where in the bible that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married or involved in a relationship other than just dear friends. Jesus was a Saviour to Mary. He rescued Mary from a life of condemnation. The bible says that Jesus freed Mary from 7 demons. He loved Mary with a pure love. Christ offers all of us the same love that was offered to Mary Magdalene . Jesus wants us all to love Him and choose Him as our friend and Saviour. That's all. Check out the bible before you make any haste decisions about Jesus. I believe that He truly is the Son of God.

Your favorite childhood summer game.

What was your favorite? Mine was marbles. As a child I would borrow one marble from friends and win a whole lot of marbles . One marble , pay back one and then go on to win lots more. I guess you would call that a gambling girl. What was your favorite summer game? Jacks, hopscotch, hide n seek, checkers, chess, chinese skipping,..... what is it. Kids now a days like to play in door games . Video or computer games. Not like when I was a child! We were not allowed to watch T.V and computer games were atari. Oh my give my age away. Pacman was the thing back then. But out door games in the summer was so much more important. What was your favorite summer game?

Wordless wednesday.

Old Teddy!

Mercies New: by Nicole Nordeman.

Is it fair to say that I was lured away? By endless distractions and lovlier attractions then.
Or fairer still, my own free will Is the better one to blame for this familiar mess I've made again.
So I would understand, if you were out of patience , And I would understand , if I was out of chances

Your mercies are new every morning, so let me wake with the dawn. When the music is through or so it seems to be. Let me sing a new song old things gone. Every day it's true, you make all Your mercies new.

The distance between East and West, is how far You would go to forget the debt I'd owe. And thrown into the sea, the wicked ways in me will never have a chance to wash back on the sand.

So I would understand if you make me pay. I would understand lying in the bed I made again.
Up comes the sun on every one of us.
Gone gone gone the guilt and shame that knew your name.

A day in the life of me!

5:30 a.m. I arrive at work and start to make coffee. A few minutes later my dear friend La comes in and we exchange sleepy buddy grins. A few minutes later Chuckie arrives with his gorgeous , deep dimmples and says" good morning". He does not even have to smile and his dimples show. What a nice way to face the day. Few minutes later in walks Reg. He's very nice , and speaking of dimples, he has one smack in the middle of his chin. And his eyes are a deep navy blue. Too bad these guys are both taken. Oh well! It's nice to be able to greet them in the wee hours of the a.m. At 6:00 a.m. sharp in walks Mary!!! " What the hell!!!" And What the F_ _ K is going on around here." These are Marys words. That's our Mary. Every other word is hell and the f, word. Oh my, Mary........ She does have a good heart ..I think. She is such an intersesting gal. But she sure speaks her mind. One can not help but either smile or shake there head at what comes out of Marys mouth. And believe me I have done both. Smile and shake my head. What a diverse work place I work in. Mary is always cursing at this thing and that. To most folk it may seem that she is very negative and bitter. But working with her I have seen the humorous side of dear Mary. I seem to always be able to make her laugh. That is a great thing. At the end of the day I have both Reg and Chuck gather in my supply room along with me. We discuss our frustrations about the job and our supervisors. We joke about things Like ( in case of mess break glass) in the glass is a gun, and watch out. For any one who does not know , I work cleaning up after cadets in the RCMP. ( if we only ran the job, things would be great) Any way it's a great way to pass the last few minutes of our time til we get off work. Tomorrow is friday. I am looking forward to it. I hope the time passes fast. Then I can maybe write a" weekend in the life of me." Cheers to all you working guys and gals. Hope your weekend is great. I look forward to mine.

It was such a gorgeous day today. The temp was +27c. Mom , dad and I went to the gardens to get some bedding plants. How glorious! I love this time of year. I put in some petunias , pansies, and trailing lobelia. I also planted a small herb garden and tomato plants on my balcony. It looks so nice. It is of course not as nice as the herb garden above. I hope I did not plant too early. I have to keep an ear to the weather channel to be sure frost won't kill my precious posies. If there is a warning of frost then I have an old sheet on hand to cover my garden just in case.

I think I broke my big toe. Owww!

I am so clumsy. I walked into a wall. Yes you heard right I walked into a wall. I stubbed my right big toe. It hurt big time. When I went to bed I thought nothing of it. But when I woke up the next morning and could not move my toe I was in pain. Yowwww.!! I got out of bed and looked at the poor piggie, it was all swollen and bright purple. Oh me oh my. How will I ever get my shoe on to go to work. Lucky me I have the weekend off to nurse my poor fat, purple, piggie. Hopefully by the time I go back to work on tuesday it will be all well with the world. Happy friday to all of you. Cheers.

How about the price of gas!

This is what it's come to!
Sick In Bed Vomit

I've been sick with the flu bug. I've been upchuking the entiring contents of Saskatchewan and Alberta too. I can relate to my poor little Abby. But mind you I would gladly take all from my little girl so she would not have to go through the sick bug. Poor Abby. I hate it when my baby grandgirl has to be sick. It breaks my heart. I know I can't take it from her though. But grandma can relate to you little darlin. I know it was not the chicken feet I ate on the weekend! I hope not. It's all in the mind right. Although my freind La was sick with the bug yesterday. She was throwing up and the other end ....... Plus she was dizzy... So I'm sure it was the flu. Man the mind is a powerful thing. I not only have what Abby has but I also have what La has.. Oh no.... All I know is that I'm feeling pretty badly. All I can think of ,is poor Abby and poor La. I hope and pray we all feel better soon. It's not a nice thing. Grandma is thinking of you Abby and you too La.
