Fourteen years ago my husband of 16 years left me . I took the kids to a park and told them the news. We then prayed together and asked God to bring us rainbows to help us through the difficult times. That same day a friend of mine picked the kids and I up to take us to her house so that my ex could have a chance to clear out his things. As we got into her car my son announced(He was 11) "mom, look it's our first rainbow". He was pointing to a decal on my friends car window of an actual rainbow. I started to cry because, even though it was a picture of a real rainbow, our true rainbow was my friend Angela who took us in and comforted us with food, tea and love. I don't know if Angela knows this or not but she was our first rainbow in a stormy time. I was reminded of this by my dear blogger friend Wanda, who captured an amazing rainbow and I hope she paints it one day. I am reminded of Gods faithfulness and his promises to us. Over the years God has brought many rainbows to my life through people like you, and you and you. You know who you are.

Wandi: Don't you just love God's amazing timing. Thank you for a wonderful "Rainbow" post. It so special that God gives us "handles" to hold on too when things get to hard to take.
What a special friend you have in Angela...What would we do if we didn't have friends. They are truly God's rainbows to us.

I have just come here from Wanda's blog -- I was amazed by the pictures, too. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could see that every day? I don't think that I would ever get tired of it.

Rainbows are amazing to me and so are special friends. In a way friends are like rainbows. They are both free. Nice post.

Rainbows appear after a storm. The hand of God, appearing to calm the storms of life.
Thank you for peace and calmness, no matter how ths battles of life try to swallow us up.

It was indeed a very rough time for you and your children then.

I can feel the hurt you felt then with your writing. Beautifully written post.

Thank you for sharing.
