Through the eyes of a two year old.

I have to share something cute that my daughter inlaw told me.
First of all I am now known as " Gamma Bear" to my little honey. Abby has so many grammas and it is kinda confusing to a 2 year old. When her mommy and daddy tell her that they are going to visit gramma, she is not quite sure which one they are talking about. I collect teddy bears, and I let Abby play with them when she comes to visit me. So that is how my son came up with the idea of referring to me as "Gramma Bear". So any way, they came to my house for dinner last sunday. It was a very nice visit. When they left my apartment, Abby looked up at my building and said, "Gamma lives in a castle." She thinks that I live in the whole apartment building and that no one else lives there. I just giggled when My daughter inlaw told me this. So I am " Gamma Bear , that lives in a castle". I just love that! So sweet.

And Away they go!!

Well, momma and daddy are about to start out on their new adventure. They sold their house on Tuesday only after being on the market for 3 hours. They sold it for 3,ooo dollars more than what they asked. Wow! They have bought a very nice holiday trailer last week, and today they bought a truck to pull the 5Th wheel trailer. How exciting! They so deserve this time in their lives. I am very excited for them. Yet I have to admit that I am some what melancholic. I have come to rely on my mom and dad so much. Mostly for their moral support. They have been a very big part of my life. I will have to adjust to them being away from us 6 months of the year. It will be okay though. We always will have e mail. Thank goodness for instant messaging. Way to go parents of mine. Happy trails to you.

To wash or not to wash. That is the question? Let me tell you the answer is to wash!!! Right now at my work I am having to clean up after cadets that are sick. About 60 of them. They have been quarentined to another building so as not to spread the germs any further. But in the mean time Me and my co workers have to go and disinfect the area where they were residing. What a job! It all starts with one person who is sick, and they do not wash there hands, then another comes along and touches the same door handle that the infected person touched, not suspecting anything to happen, and then bang, we have an out break of sickness. It is not an epidemic. But in a place where we have cadet living in close quarters it seems to be something. My co workers and I have had some very exhausting 2 weeks trying to get the germs under control. We can only do so much. As soon as we disinfect a door handle, all it takes is one infected person to touch that door handle and we are right back where we started from. So my point I am trying to make is everyone needs to do there part and wash, wash, wash, there hands...... !!!!!

Here's a cute thing that was sent to me. I don't know who wrote it , and I don't beleive in reincarnation, but I thought it was cute anyway. This is for all wives and mothers who, in the real world feel frustrated with their kids and husbands now and again.

" In this life I am a woman. In my next life I want to come back as a bear. When you're a bear, you get to hybernate. You do nothing but sleep for 6 months. I could deal with that. Before you hybernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that too. When you're a girl bear, you birth your children(who are the size of a walnuts) while you are sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute cuddly cubs. I could definately deal with that. If you're a mama bear everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone that bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line you swat them too. I could deal with that. If you're a bear, your mate expects you to wake up growling. He expects that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat. Yup, gonna be a bear!

Just a spoon full of Abby helps the medicine go down.

I had such a wonderful afternoon. My little sweetness Abby came for a visit. It was just her and I for a couple of hours. Even though she had the sniffles from a cold, she was such a delight. I fed her lunch and then we went for a walk . I have a wooden doll stroller that I let her take out along with a teddy bear of her choice( I have a few bears that I have collected over the years). She happily walked along pushing the teddy in the stroller stopping every so often to collect pine cones(porcupine's, as she called them) and run freely on the grass outside my apartment. She found a pine tree that she just had to crawl on the ground under the branches. It was so cute to watch. When she came out from under the tree she was covered in pine needles. In her hair and down her pants. We came inside and got rid of the nasty scratchy tree bits and had a snack. She said to me " that was a nice walk gamma". It was indeed my Abby girl. She is the best medicine ! If you are having a bad day, all you need is a good dose of Abby. She is so sweet. I had such a bad, downer of a day yesterday at work, and today when I spent time with sweetie, all the cares of the world just melted away. There is something about the innocence of a child that makes all the worries disappear. Nothing else matters. So I say thanks to my son and daughter in law for sharing her with me. You may say I did you a favor for looking after Abby , but believe me when I say it was me that received the favor and blessing.

The travelers have returned. Mom and dad just came back from a 2 month stay down in Florida. They loved their experience so much that they have decided to sell the house and buy a holiday trailer and travel full time. They want to spend 6 months ( spring and summer) here in Canada, and then 6 months in warmer climates. I say good for them. They have worked so hard all their lives and it's time to be free and enjoy life and relax. Do what ever they want to. They were already out looking at 5th wheel trailers and think they have found the one they want. So next step is putting the house up forsale and down sizing big time. I'm excited for them.

Subject: HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to
bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed,
which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there
were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said "no".

Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door

and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in
my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot
them all." Then he hung up.

Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an

ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught theburglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"
